Transplants to Louisiana via the icy tundra of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, squint has always been a band focused on gathering experiences to write about. Their incessant touring has consistently interfered with love and helped the band become deadly-accurate portrait artists of broken relationships. Strong as their passion for writing music may be, they are a band ultimately devoted to the live performance.

squint’s latest record, was produced by Ed Stasium in Los Angeles.  Ed is a legend; the man responsible for recording The Ramones, Soul Asylum, Rev. Horton Heat, this list goes on and on.  This album earned them a nomination for an American Music Award even before it was released.  At college radio, it was the #12 most added record according to CMJ’s Top 20 Adds and made the CMJ Top 200.  At commercial radio, Tinsel Life immediately charted on the Top 20 Specialty Radio charts.  squint is also featured on Touchtunes Jukeboxes, DMX Radio, and XM Satellite Radio.

squint is sponsored by Jagermeister, and are featured on the 2006 Jager Music Compilation CD and are performing dates on the 2007 Jager Music Tour with Stone Sour, Shadow’s Fall and Lacuna Coil.  Songs off squint’s new record have been featured on MTV’s The Real World and Road Rules as well as multiple shows on The Travel Channel, A&E, Oxygen, TLC and The Discovery Channel, and squint’s live show has generated so much buzz that it will has been featured on the national television program True Music, which will be released as a DVD featuring Tantric, squint and Matchbox 20.  squint’s unique live show also attracted the attention of microphone stand manufacture, Atlas.  Atlas joined forces with squint in 2004 – making squint the first artist in history to have a microphone stand endorsement.  squint is also proudly sponsored by AKG Microphones.

The last four years have put squint performing almost 150 shows a year; gracing the stage with bands like Staind, Fall Out Boy, The Goo Goo Dolls, Alter Bridge, The Toadies and more.  squint has also donated over 32 thousand dollars to Parkinson disease research through their annual charity festival, Squintfest (www.squintfest.com).  These accomplishments, and their hard work and solid song writing, earned squint the ASCAP Plus Award in 2003 thru 2007.

With a new live record released in March of 2007 and plans to record a new studio album almost in place for mid-2007; this year looks to be another great year for squint.

REVIEWS and QUOTES:

"That's my new favorite band."
- John Rzeznick, lead singer Goo Goo Dolls

"After a spin or two [Tinsel Life] grabbed me by the balls, never to let go again...full of catchy pop melodies with a punk attitude and lyrics that somehow set the band apart from most other acts."
- Fred Monster, Majestic Magazine

"Vocalist Dane Adrian has one of those wonderful, measured-yet-frantic voices that perfectly complements Matt Fredrickson's guitar work, which makes for an intriguing listen...and Stasium's impeccable production...polishes the songs with the kind of sonic luster only a producer of his caliber can create."
- Andrew Ellis, Heart of the Rock Magazine/IndieMonkey.com

"Stasium's bright, punchy mix is perfectly suited to squint's anthemic alt-rock…expertly crafted, ruthlessly infectious tunes."
- Jim Santo, outersound.com

"Squint's music is chock-full of sticky pop hooks, with lyrics both general enough for mass appeal and clever enough to set the band apart."
- Chris Smith, Houston Press

"This gets my vote for the best rock I've heard in a long time. Raw energy, guts and balls…well constructed and performed."
"Performances are great…edgy and upfront…just cynical enough to captivate…if you like high energy rock with a little punk flavoring, you should check this out…my advice is to shop this puppy right away!"

"A few months ago I debuted a new group called squint and there was immediate impact. My phones lit up and they haven't stopped yet."
- Program Director for WXFX-FM - The Fox Rick Hendrick - Montgomery, AL

"So do the band, and more importantly yourself, a favor and see Squint live while the price is cheap. It might not be that way for much longer."
- Kevin Berry - Entertainment Editor/Tech Talk - Interscope Records Intern

"...raucous, rockin' dog-faced college alternative..."
- Renegade Newsletter Industry Edition

"Citing the influence of Rocket From The Crypt, Hagfish and early Replacements, Ruston, Louisiana's Squint go balls-out and zipper-snagged on the leadoff track, "Somebody to Talk to," then settle down a bit for "Dinner," a mood-swinging number that knocks down a cocktail before upending the table. "Big Head" is a rock n' roll locomotive, belching malicious smoke as it chugs into the shallow, trendy night of the soul. Gloriously grungy, "Not To You" is just a great damn song with an anti-heroic chorus: "I wanted to hurt you/You wanted me too/But I couldn't do that/Not to you."
- Alternative Press Online

"[Squint] is a very talented and emotional band, with a strong live show and a great set."
- The Northwind (Northern Michigan University)
